Shoulders wrapped.  Cocooned in a layer of pistasio green - soft and warm.

I fell in love with Kirsty's slashed vest.  Which led me to Leonie's  simply knitted Wrap Vest pattern.

I picked up my hook and dove into my stash - Leonie was right, a crochet version does look fabulous.

I know it's going to get a lot of wear this winter...  it sits perfecty over my long sleeved tee, and nestles wonderfully underneath my jacket...  sandwiched beautifully!

Here's how if you'd like to know:

DETAILS

Finished measurements:
22"/56cm long x 41"/104 cm wide

Yarn
Patons Wilderness.  Color 0501.   5 x 100gm balls.

Hook and Notions:
7.00 mm  crochet hook
Tapestry needle

Gauge:
My gauge: 6 stitches over 2".

I followed Leonie's measurements exactly.

Chain 55.

DC (double crochet) for 12.5 inches.

Armhole:
DC 15, chain 25, dc 15.
Next row, DC in each stitch.

Continue back section until it measures 16 inches.
Repeat Armhole.
Continue crochet for another 12.5 inches.
Break yarn and weave in ends.

a perfect sunday

Today. 
Sunday.

Blue skies stretched forever.  Heaven and ocean melted into the horizon.
A crispness in the air reminded us that it is winter, even though it looked like summer.

A lazy brunch at one of our favorite cafes. 
Smiles as I watched frothy milk stick to Ziggy's chin.  He enjoyed his babycino.

Then home.
My haven.  My sanctuary.

A little rest.
A little play.
A little crafting.

Our evening sky -  indigo blue, clear and deep. 
I can see my breath.  I can hear the stillness.
The perfect end to a perfect day.

Over the years, motherhood has taught me to be patient. Patience was not a virtue I was blessed with at birth, but now I regard myself as a very patient person (although I'm sure my children, and some others, would beg to differ at times!)

I have been [patiently] waiting for my Summer, 2010 edition of Artful Blogging to arrive in the post, and at last it is here.  Back in January I was thrilled when the lovely Jennifer Jackson, Managing Editor of the Stampington Company and Artful Blogging  contacted me, asking if I would like to be part of their Summer edition.  Of course I jumped at the opportunity, and now  I cannot quite believe I have been published!

Of course, this magazine has been on the stands in the US for some weeks now, but I had to wait for s-n-a-i-l  mail to delivery my copy to me here in Australia.

Holding the shiny pages of Artful Blogging in my hands, marked the beginning of a very full and busy month for me.  So much happened, and I have so much to share....
