Since giving birth to Ziggy, there sadly hasn't been room in my head, or in our house to sew. Oh, how i miss working with fabric.
My first love is quilting, handquilting in particular. The process of my needle moving rhythmically in and out through layers of cotton, wool and linen is incredibly calming. The thousands of tiny, perfect stitches are an irresistible invitation to touch, trace and follow the patterns, lines and curves.
Some of my quilts have taken many months to finish, so i consider myself to be an incredibly patient person. Yet, i must confess that this scarf challenged my patience and sanity!! The seemingly endless casting on and casting off almost had me abandoning this project! But thanks to a gorgeous girl, her words of encouragement and her amazing results, I hung in there! I'm so glad I did.
Finished, at last - and i adore it.
The yarn drapes beautifully and I was lucky enough to discover how to overcome the loose stitch issue before I started.
Soft and light.
Perfect for spring.
Now: i'm knitting something that is blissfully quick.
Next: i may get my sewing machine out!
