As a child, I often overheard the adults in my world talking about how they felt time was 'speeding up'. Back then I disagreed - my days felt luxuriously long, i was always able to accomplish everything I wanted to do. Now I understand what they meant... it's a 'grown up' thing. Time has now sped up for me too, and with not enough hours in my day, Christmas was the pinnacle of disorganisation! I wish I could say I found magic in the holiday season, but the truth is I didn't. That's not to say we didn't have a lovely Christmas day with our family and children, but for some reason it just didn't feel like Christmas to me.
So today I am embracing the magic of New Year's Eve. It is my gateway to another year waiting to be created - I am content for chance to play it's part and am keen to see how it will all unfold. As this year draws to a close, I'm realizing that for all the things I didn't get quite right, I'm satisfied enough with all the things I did. It has been an incredible 12 months filled with joy, challenges, a little crafting, knitting, the discovery of photography , flickr and blogging!
On this New Year's Eve, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your presence in my life - to everyone who has taken time out of their precious day to stop by for a moment to read my words and glance at my images, to leave comments and share their stories with me. I could not have anticipated the support I would find, the friendships I would form and the love I would feel. The closeness of this online community has been a wonderful surprise to me - a source of joy and strength. I have learnt so much from all of you.
I can honestly say I have never believed more in my ability to create the life I want. Today I stand on the cusp of a new year filled with hope, ready to welcome magic and possibility with arms wide open - excited to embrace all that this life has to offer.
Sending you love and hope for a magical 2009!
Oh I do hope you find magic, and choices aplenty, for creating a world full of beauty!
Have a lovely day, and a welcome to 2009.

Beautifully put. So much so that I feel anything I write will just take away from it.
But I wish you so much beauty for 2009. And joy, happiness, contentment, peace. And so much more. Everything that I could possibly wish for you in fact. And of course a trip to Melbourne would be the icing on the cake. :)
Can't wait to see where the new year takes you. xx
